Education Professional Affiliations Experience After obtaining my accounting degree in 1984, I accepted a position as a staff accountant with Stoy, Malone & Company, Certified Public Accountants, in Bethesda, Maryland. I primarily assisted with audits of the financial statements of various businesses and tax-exempt organizations. I also assisted with the preparation of tax returns for individuals, corporations, and partnerships. While with Stoy, Malone & Company, I successfully passed all four parts of the Uniform CPA Examination on my first sitting. I obtained my CPA certificate in 1985 and accepted a position as an in-charge auditor with the firm of Edward F. Jesse, Certified Public Accountant, in Silver Spring, Maryland. I had hands-on responsibility for audits of the financial statements of tax-exempt organizations and HUD assisted housing cooperatives. In 1986, I had the opportunity to work with Skigen & Associates, Chartered, Certified Public Accountants, in Rockville, Maryland. Michael Skigen was a professor of taxation at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., and I value the opportunity I had to work under his tutelage. I obtained extensive experience in the areas of taxation for individuals, corporations, and partnerships, and I was promoted to the position of staff supervisor. On August 25, 1988, I resigned my position with Skigen & Associates to fulfill a longtime dream to start my own accounting firm.
